Are the books closed?

Postby lyfelyte » Sat Jun 13, 2009 10:03 am

Every other media management software that's out on the market whether it be a paid version or open source either has or is in development of a plugin for Netflix and Hulu. Are we pretty much done here? Are there no plans to have a streaming video/movie plugin?

I have a new version of the MLNetFlix plugin working here for me and it is doing a good job. Still needs some enhancements. You'll see a release in the near future. Other things have priority at the moment.

Is this still on the list Dave?

I sure hope so because once folks here try this out there will be tons of interest.

Yes it is still on the list. I have the Netflix plugin running here and I make heavy use of its ability to download movies so that I can watch them at a later date without the need of worrying if my internet bandwidth is sufficient for the stream. I need to modify the plugin to handle episodes and once that is done it will be ready for release. Still bogged down with plugin rewrites but there is a light at the end of that tunnel too.

Awesome! That is great news. I'm glad you "see the light".

That is exactly how I would like to use it, as well as have the whole family have access to update the queue, etc.

I am extremely pleased to hear this as well. This will be a great addition to ml. Now if i can just talk comcast into building a decent box so it can talk to ml like the directtv box does we'll be in good shape. :D

There is a little activity in this area. But no release date has been set. Our priority is still fixing some issues on existing plugins.

We may have a few surprised though in store before Christmas...stay tuned.

Any more news here I loved the plugin while it was working for me. Would like to get this going on my fresh new system I just build and converted to 95% successfully thismorning.
