Iphone/Ipod update?

Postby csjodon » Tue Dec 01, 2009 10:19 pm

Has anyone heard of when the updated iphone plugin will be available? Musiclobby no longer works and it would be much easier to control using my phone than a computer. Even better, an true iphone app. I am just wondering if I need to retool my mainlobby screens or if there will be a good app soon that can be used with the iphone?

I've switched over to a squeezeslave/ipeng setup and like it so far. Ipeng works great, but there isn't any way to tie it into mlserver.

There is a complete refresh of the iPhone web pages in the works. Not too far off.

I sure hope something new and tangible happens with this interface soon. Per Cinemar, I scrapped my PPC and bought an iTouch, since they swore it would be the next big thing interface-wise. I have been super excited to see where this goes. It's been months and still waiting for the Cinemar magic to happen. Let's prod this one along guys!

Hi Gang,

I just bought the HTC Droid Eris phone which runs Google's Android software. This is an amazing phone ... gonna give Iphone a run for it's money.

Check it out at this link: http://www.htc.com/us/products/droid-eris-verizon

A Cinemar plugin for this phone would definitely open some doors for everyone!

Ron,

How well does it do playing back Flash? You could try our home page as an example.

Mario,

It's very fast. Looks as fast on my DROID as my MLServer HP dual core processor.

Here are a few specs:

Operating System

Google Android (Cupcake)
Processor

Qualcomm® MSM7600™, 528MHz
Internal Memory

512MB ROM / 288MB RAM
Display

3.2-inch 320 x 480 HVGA Resolution Capacitive Touch Screen

Complete specs on link in previous post.

There are a couple of plugins and hacks to get flash onto the ipod touch. Have not yet tried them but will be soon. Just got one from Santa for Cinemar control testing :)

It ticks me off I have to install iTunes just to get this ipod touch up and running. I hate iTunes.....

If you go to this website, it should return your flash version:

I hope I'm not hearing that the iphone/itouch is next on the list to be axed? I was ridiculed here for still having a PPC and Cinemar's PPC software and was told that Cinemar was going down the path of the iphone/itouch. Is this no longer the case?

The iphone is still a phenomenal device. We've provided free tools for everyone to build from and were hoping the community will step up and share their creations and ideas. It just takes a little elbow grease to get there.
In order to develop an out-of-the-box experience with the iPhone...many things have to happen with every single plugin. So it's not just developing an iphone app...it's much more than that.

If the iPhone natively supported flash (and some other technical details), it could open up a lot more possibilities to simplifying things for the end user. Imagine a MainLobby designer for the iPhone.

If the Droid supports a version of Flash...it could be a fairly easy to transition our existing designer to accomodate.

I navigated to the Adobe link Jay suggested (thanks Jay) with my Droid phone and it displayed this info:

You have version 9.1.122.0 installed
