Album Display

Postby ronsatter » Mon Oct 13, 2008 12:41 pm

I noticed the default number of albums displayed per page as per the plugin is 18. I needed to reduce the number of albums displayed per page because of my ML scene space limitations. I display 3 rows of 5 , instead of 3 rows of 6 per page.

I edited the iTunes client controller in the plugin settings window to reflect those changes. Since there is no "Save" button, I am not certain the changes were stored in the database.

I noticed this command in the wiki:

MLServeCmd.MLITunes|Id~SetAlbumLimit~Limit

(Literal)

MLServeCmd.MLITunes|1~SetAlbumLimit~10

MLServeCmd.MLITunes|1~SetAlbumLimit~-1

MLServeCmd.MLITunes|ITunes_One~SetAlbumLimit~13

Parameters

Id = The id number or alias of the ITunes controller to send the command to.
Limit = The number of albums to display per page.

Returns

Nothing

Description

This command will set the number of albums to display per page.

Do I need to re-issue this command at MLServer startup to maintain my new albums per page settings, or will the plugin settings edit do the trick?

Ron,

Those settings should remain upon restart.

Also, you can easily edit this in the Client Settings tab of the iTunes plugin.
You can either change the default or add a clientname and the specific details associated with that client when it connects. This is useful to support various size tablets and touchscreens - each with their own interface settings.

Thanx Mario!

Next question:

Does the MLiTunes Agent "Connect on Startup" refer to MLServer startup or Windows startup? What is the recommended startup sequence for ML Server, ML Clients, MLiTunes Agent and the iTunes app? I know that the agent will automatically start the iTunes app ... just want to know if it's possible to screw up the boot order. :?

Hi Ron,

In Agent, it says "Start on System Startup". So that would be when windows starts.

I wouldn't worry about the order. In every case, everything should work regardless of boot order as long as all pieces are running at some point and listening.
