MLArcSoftTMT command different than PowerDVD

Postby Funboy » Sat Jul 19, 2008 9:55 am

A couple of notes/suggestions on MLArcSoft and MLPowerDVD.

On the Wiki the MLArcSoftTMT (http://www.cinemaronlineforums.com/wiki ... TMT_Plugin) page the Supported Commands that are listed are actually for MLPowerDVD. The commands for MLArcSoftTMT are slightly different. For example, MLArcSoft supports POWEROFF whereas MLPowerDVD supports POFF.

Where this causes a problem is if you are using Aliases like I am. I currently have 1 customer that prefers PowerDVD and another that prefers ArcSoft TMT. And so I use a common command set relying on Aliases. E.g. AV.FamilyRoom|PowerOff

I like the approach of using aliases with a common command set so that I don't have to maintain 2 unique command sets. However since there are some differences between MLArcSoft and MLPowerDVD I have to maintain the differences.

MLPowerDVD: AV.FamilyRoom|POFF
MLArcSoft: AV.FamilyRoom|POWEROFF

Is there anyway we can get MLPowerDVD and/or MLArcSoftTMT updated so that they share a common list of commands?

Here are the differences I've noted:
POWEROFF vs POFF
POWERON vs PON
NEXT vs NCHAP
PREVIOUS vs PCHAP
TITLEMENU vs DVDMENU

Use
{{media_{{clientname}}_transport_play}}
Instead.
Then, the commands are mapped in the DVDLobby plugin under the Remotes tab.

You can then change context of the single scene by setting the

SetVariable|media_{{clientname}}_transport_source~ArcSoftTMT

Described here:

That would work, but wouldn't be better to standardize syntax, especially if they are in the same family?

The commands have been normalized some time ago so that both plugins support the same command set. The Wiki needs to be updated to reflect this. Might have to make one more pass through them to make sure they are 100% in sync.

What about doing that same normalization for TheaterTek DVD, ZoomPlayer, ZoneAudio and making sure the playback variables (when available) are also consistent?
MLComDevice: Control serial/TCP device (ASCII/hex) - MLSchedule: Alternative to MLScheduler
MLBeyondTV and MLSageTV: PVR support - TChanger: Sony BDP-CX7000ES 400 disc Bluray changer
TRadio: Sirius/HD/XM radio - TChart: Chart from variable Wiki
