MLBeyondTV Plugin Production Release

Postby DavidL » Fri Sep 07, 2007 5:23 am

BeyondTV is a PC software package that enables scheduled recording of TV. It supports many different tuner cards, including the HDHomeRun ethernet tuner that receives QAM unencrypted cable as well as over the air HD programming.

MLBeyondTV plugin is a means to provide a user interface to BTV software directly in MainLobby.

The MLBeyondTV plugin also allows for populating the current TVLobby user interface with guide data via BeyondTV application.

You must have BeyondTV installed and licensed on a networked PC to MLServer3 PC. These can be the same PC, but not recommended (especially if you use software encoding TV capture card(s)).

For more information on BeyondTV: http://www.snapstream.com/

This plugin requires the latest MLServer3 and MainLobby3 client.

Post in this thread if you are interested in participating in this beta.

BTW, this is one means for TVLobby users to get guide data back up and running :)

>From the Recording jobs popup, it is now possible to
change the recording frequency and to toggle the
"Record on any channels".

>Reversed the order of the
Recent recordings, to show the latest first

*********

I do not currently use Beyond TV. Like it just use something else.

But what I am interested in is that you have found a way to get guide data for tvlobby now that zap2it is no more.

Ever think about just building the guide data part for tvlobby?

That sounds great. I do like beyond tv just not in my system as something I use. But if you have found a way to get tv listings into tvlobby that is awsome.

You could look at it as a TV guide service. Now that Zap is no longer free, solutions like MLBeyondTV look more and more attractive - even if you don't use it as a PVR :)

bobbym,
make sure in the MLBTV plugin that you have picked a capture card / TV source from the drop downs.

OK working, takes a little bit of time for the grit to load and find high cpu usage untill the grit is loaded. Would love integration of Beyond TV PVR into MainLobby.

Yes, that is the case today as it's not "optimized" as fonceur notes.
Also, this would be a off hours scheduled event once every 3 - 7 days.

We have most PVR functionality working, just not ready to release it yet.

Hopefully that was just the initial run, as it was wiping the previous content... You should consider hiding (in BTV's web admin) the unsubscribed channels, that would be less data to handle.
