New version posted. Can you give it a try. I used your command and was able to get it to work on my development server, so hopefully it will fix your problem.

Ok,
We updated the WIKI to provide new port numbers that have to be open on the firewall. for MLCalendar / MLPhonebook / MLEmail to work properly.

Ports 5015 through 5024 UDP (not TCP) have to be opened.

You might want to close ports 1011 through 1024 as no MainLobby software is now using these ports. (either TCP OR UDP).

Make sure you reboot both the MLServer and the Outlook PC(s) after making these changes on both PCs.

Make sure you are using latest addin and plugins.

Open up all those ports running latest everything...still not working. Same as it ever was.

Again, to recap:

I can add events to the Outlook calendar directly (then run an update in MLOutlook plugin), they will show up in the client.

I can then delete that event via the Client just fine. Deletes it from both calendars (Client and Outlook).

I still cannot add any events from the client. No errors (you've seen the logs)..just does not work.

Running out of ideas. Thoughts?

I tested and had your symptoms and we root caused it to the ports being out of date in the wiki. I opened the ports on both the mlserver and outlook pc, rebooted, and bammmm it worked great. I added a new event from the client, and bingo a couple seconds later, saw it appear in Outlook. On next ML client update, it displayed in ML calendar.

So, I am still thinking it's a networking issue.

I am using Outlook 2007 btw.

Yup, changing the ports and REBOOT finally did the trick. Thanks so much for the quick responses on nailing this down.

I don't mean to hijack my own thread, but is it normal to see html type breaks (
) between events? Is there a way around this?

Glad to hear it's resolved.

the
...you might want to change to the Multiline text button, that didn't exist when the sample MLCalendar scenes were produced. I haven't tried it myself, but that should make for a nicer, scrollable presentation of the text.

Excellent, the Multiline text button did the trick.

Calendar Changes Not Dynamic

Postby ronsatter » Wed Sep 17, 2008 6:14 pm

Also, I was just fooling around and on the ML client went to a day's detail and clicked "Delete". The item was deleted from the actual Outlook calendar, yet it still appears on the MLS calendar scene.

I'm having the same problem. Deleting a calendar event from ML does not update the Calendar Detail Scene, nor does it update the Calendar scene. Is there a MLCalendar command or macro that can be called to reset the MLCalendar data to the last event which was showing in the Calendar Detail scene? If anyone has figured this out, would you mind showing me how you coded this?

Also, I noticed that changing to a different calendar month in ML does not update that month's MLCalendar data.

Thanks,

Ron

On next ML client update, it displayed in ML calendar.

I am having the same issue when trying to add event. No event appears in Outlook or MLCalendar when we click on Process using the following cmd:

MLServeCmd.MLCalendar|add_event~{{mlcalendar_select_by_calendar_label}}~{{mlcalendar_newevent_starttime}}~{{mlcalendar_newevent_endtime}}~{{mlcalendar_newevent_eventname}}~{{mlcalendar_newevent_alldayflag}}~{{mlcalendar_newevent_location}}~{{mlcalendar_newevent_message}}

The event log does not show any errors. I have ports 5011-5024 open as directed in the Wiki. Are these the correct ports? We are able to create events in Outlook and update to MLCalendar...no problem.

Thanks.
