MLCalendar - Client side added events not showing

Postby mnkynifefite » Thu Sep 04, 2008 12:21 pm

Testing out the MLCalendar plugin, was planning to but except one major issue. Events added from the ML client to not get added to the calendar, and of course then do not show up in the calendar scene either. If I add an event directly to my Outlook calendar and then do a sync, then event shows up on the scene, so it seems as though it's "tlaking". Here is my log from MLCalendar when I try to add an event.

CMD: GET_DATE_INFO~13 FROM: 2WBNHD1

Can you turn on the logging in the calendar Outlook addin, run the same command and post the log?

thanks

Here's the log from the MLOutlook plugin

Calendar update Completed @ 9/4/2008 12:38:24 PM

That's it. No error's, but also no added event!

Ideas?

Can you post (copy / paste) the actual command you are sending?

What version of Outlook?

Well, the command on the "Process" button is the default command:

MLServeCmd.MLCalendar|add_event~{{mlcalendar_select_by_calendar_label}}~{{mlcalendar_newevent_starttime}}~{{mlcalendar_newevent_endtime}}~{{mlcalendar_newevent_eventname}}~{{mlcalendar_newevent_alldayflag}}~{{mlcalendar_newevent_location}}~{{mlcalendar_newevent_message}}

I'm using Outlook 2007 (but can go back to 2003 if necessary).

Also, I was just fooling around and on the ML client went to a day's detail and clicked "Delete". The item was deleted from the actual Outlook calendar, yet it still appears on the MLS calendar scene.

By any chance do you have check box entitled: "Ignore MLCalendar Update Requests" checked on the calendar tab of the Outlook Addin? This will cause the response that you are seeing.

Nope. I double checked to make sure that box is not "checked"...nada. Any other ideas? How do the Cyclestate's relate to the calendar?

Unistalled Outlook 2007 and installed Outlook 2003...same behavior, or rather lack thereof

This time I tried using the client that resides on the same box as my MLServer. The Addin log now shows this when I go to add an event-

Calendar update Completed @ 9/4/2008 3:42:48 PM
Error 13 - (Type mismatch)@line 510 in procedure WinsockCommander_DataArrival of frmMain
Calendar update Completed @ 9/4/2008 3:43:30 PM

Then tried it a second time. Could not repeat the error. First time I may have not had a value for "All Day" (if that matters).

HELP!

The MLOutlook Addin and the MLCalender plugin were just updated. Try downloading from MLInstaller and please advise if it fixes the issue.

Thanx

Updated. Did not fix the problem. The delete seems to work fine both ways, but it will not add events from the Client. If I add an event directly in Outlook 2003, and then click update, it shows up in the scene, but not from the client.

Any other ideas?

Can you turn logging on both the plugin and the Outlook addin, run the command one more time and post the log? I added some tracing in that should give me a better idea off what is going on.

Based on your comments, it appears that the delete issue was fixed on the last update?

One more thing...just noticced that the MLCalendar plugin still shows 3.0.247 as the version. I have manully deleted it serveral times and downloaded/installed the latest version, but it still shows the old version number. Am I missing something?

Try downloading the MLCalendar plugin again from MLInstaller. Version on MLInstaller is same, but now the installer hopefully installs the updated file.
Sorry.

Ok, so I grabbed the new version...BUT it still does not work...bummer! Thoughts? Am I missing something in the setup? I'm using default everything for testing (including Cyclestates). Is that ok?
