Ok programming was not lost... I just thought it was. Looks like the plugin just erased the hvac settings for heat/cool and fan on/off so instead of the thermostat saying it was on heat or cool it just said BADENUM on the display and on the webpage. This freaked me out but it was a simple fix. Just had to go to each thermostat and manually change them back to AUTO for fan and mode. I erased the access databases for mlthermostats and reinstalled the mlthermostat plugin and the proliphix plugin. I then tried to startup ML and it's hanging right now on mlthermostat. Hung for 5 minutes until i killed it.

hmmm. this plugin hates me.

You devs want remote access to my mlserver machine to test? I wonder if I could load up mlserver in a vmware session in trial mode and load the plugin there so you guys could test it on that instead of my live box. yes? no?

kgingerich,

Remote access would speed things up. Setup a free LogMeIn.com account when you have a chance.

Ideally, you can reinstall everything. (You may want to delete your MLServer\data\MLThermostat.mdb file before installing so you can completely start over).

Turn on logging from the plugin and report the results.

Last night I deleted the two .mdb files before reloading mlthermostat and the proliphix driver. That's when it hung on startup. How do I enable the logging within the plugin when it hangs on load?

If I setup another machine can you guys load mlserver on it and do whatever testing you want? I'd rather not give up control of my mlserver since it runs many functions of the house at this point and has private information on it.

If it's going to be a while can you post the version that was available before I posted my issues here? that version worked fine except for my remote sensors. At least I could use the plugin while the issues get resolved.

kgingerich,

Please download the latest MLThermostat Family from the Installation Assistant. That should resolve your issues.

I would recommend opting to overwrite your database during install to start fresh.

I deleted the two databases in the /data folder and installed the updated version of MLThermostat Family plugin (1.0.128). Started up mlserver and loaded the plugin. I then opened up settings added one of my thermostats and click the checkbox for this thermostat uses external sensors. I got an immediate runtime error and had to forcibly close mlserver.

After starting it back up i went into the settings again and data from the thermostat isn't being populated. The plugin isn't getting any data from my thermostat. I then logged into my thermostat's webpage and saw the BADENUM error listed next to "FAN MODE" and "HVAC MODE" and my thermostat was set to cool to 42 degrees. I changed those settings back to normal and had to turn off the plugin because it keeps screwing up my thermostat.

There is a new version of the Proliphix driver for MLThermostat that fixes the error when selecting external sensors.

The "404 Not Found" error happens when the IP address or port set on the "Settings" tab can not be found. I would double check your IP address and port settings to make sure that they match your thermostat settings.

I'll try the new version in a minute.

Regarding the 404 error what you said make sense but if I had the IP typed wrong then why was the plugin able to screw up my thermostat settings over and over? Everytime I enable the plugin my thermostat goes crazy.

Just updated the proliphix driver and reconfigured my device and confirmed IP address is correct. Same 404 error and my thermostat is all screwed up again.

the thermostat i've been testing on is so messed up now I can't get it to do anything via it's web page. I'm going to do a factory reset when I get home and then retry the plugin.

Did a factory init on my thermostat and turned on the plugin again. Reset the password within the plugin to the default admin/admin and it screwed up my thermostat again.

now what?

kgingerich,

Another version has been posted. Please login and redownload the Proliphix driver.

Well the good news is that it's working the way it did before I started this post, but that's also the bad news.

The plugin now seems to work great except that it doesn't gather information about external sensors attached to the thermostat and won't allow me to click the checkbox to enable them.

Here's the whole log of me setting up one of my NT20's and trying to get it to enable external sensors.
