Correct Main Lobby Client Service command for DVDFAB

Postby Pinnace0 » Thu Jul 10, 2008 8:29 pm

After a lot of trial and error I can copy DVD's (sort of). The movies copy successfully, but to a wrong location.

For example when I try to copy the “Coneheads” I want the movie files to go to

T:\000 \CONEHEADS\VIDEO_TS

Unfortunately, the process ends up with the movie going to

T:\000\VIDEO_TS\FullDisc\CONEHEADS\VIDEO_TS

No matter how hard I have worked at it I have been no been able to stop the creation of the extra directories (shown in red)

I am using the following command for DVD FAB

C:\Program Files\DVDFab 5\DVDFab.exe /SRC "<<P1>>" /DEST "<<P2>>\VIDEO_TS" /START /CLOSE.

I think there is something wrong with this command, but I cannot see the error.

You are definately missing the DVD title name. The code I provided for you works perfectly for me. Notice that some of it IS hard coded. I've never had this issue myself. Double check your server variables once a lookup has been completed to verify that all the proper information is actually there before you backup.

The "Full Disc" directory component is a DVDFab default for copying full movie. I have not been able to change that within DVDFab.

Anyone else know how to change that?

I am using Kevind's code modified for my equipment's names .The code below has my modifications "bolded".

Macro|
SetVariable|catalog_currenttitle~!
SetVariable|catalog_titleindex~!
SetVariable|catalog_totaltitles~!
SetVariable|catalog_moviefound~0! SetVariable|catalog_progress_MyClient1~0!
SetVariable|{{clientname}}_backup_movie_zone~Myclient1!
MLCmd|ChangeScene~{{clientname}}~754_media_movies_catalog.mls!
SetVariable|catalog_scanfolder~\\Myclient1\test\Video_TS!
MLDVDLobby|Catalog_Clear!
MLDVDLobby|Catalog_Direct~{{catalog_scanfolder}}
Sys.{{{{clientname}}_backup_movie_zone}}|Send~DVDFab~D:\~{{catalog_libraryfolder}}{{catalog_title}}

1) My Cinemar Client Name is "Myclient1" is equivelent to Kevind's "Drone1"

2) "\\Myclient1\test\Video_TS" is the name of the DVD drive and this is equivalent to "\\Drone1\Theatre\Video_TS"

Any obvious errors?

Craig

PS- Per Windows XP - My PC name is server1

Both the code from Kevind and Cinemar's code from Library 19 end up creating additional directories. Given two different approaches have the same problem leads me to believe neither is actual culprit. I believe the error is with code inside of MLclient services that triggers DVDFAB

As both Kevind's and the code in Library 19 ultimately end up firing the MLclient Service command it seems the most likely trouble spot

my "MLclient Service" code to trigger DVDFAB5 is

C:\Program Files\DVDFab 5\DVDFab.exe /SRC "<<P1>>" /DEST "<<P2>>\VIDEO_TS" /START /CLOSE.

Kevind- What command are you using inside of "MlClient Service" to trigger DVDFAB?

On Drone1 where myclientSVC is installed:

Alias = DVDFab
Program to Execute = C:\Program Files\DVDFab HD Decrypter 4\DVDFabHDDecrypter.exe /SRC "<<P1>>" /DEST "<<P2>>" /START /CLOSE

Question for you. in your Macro where you have put "MyClient1" is "MyClient1" the actual NAME of the PC where you are backing the disc up from? I ask this as typically "MyClient1" is used as a Mainlobby software ID name and NOT a PC name.

In my code, "Theatre" is what I've named the DVDRom drive ON Drone1. Drone1 is the name of the actual PC. It's been months but there is a reason why you have to NAME the DVDRom drive to something other than "D:\" on the PC where you are backing up from. CinemarDave and I went through this problem last year and the conclusion is you have to "right click" and rename your DVDRom drive for this to work.

So if I read you correctly: MyClient1 = PC where DVD is being backed up from and "test" is the DVDRom name on "MyClient1" Yes?

In DVD Fab under "General" tab option uncheck "Create Files in Subfolder of output directory"...this will get rid of the "FullDisc" or "MainMovie"

The folder created by DMR/DVDLobby/DVDFab should begin with the movie name.
