429 Error

Postby rileydog » Sat Sep 22, 2007 10:46 pm

I rebuilt my server and reinstalled ML Server and the plugins.

I had 4 plugins giving me fits - MatrixSwitcher, IPCamera, MLHS and iPort

After doing a combination of reinstalling and manually issuing regsvr32 commands, I got only one plugin left - iPort

When it loads, I get an error Run-time error '429' : ActiveX Component can't be created.

Anyone know how to get this plugin working again? Thanks,

Bump - I still can't figure this out.

I cannot load the plugin and in the plug-ins status column, it reads:

Not Loaded (VB Err #40040)

The version says unknown but it is the one I downloaded in my download section. I have deleted everything I could find, restarted and re-installed several times.

What OS are you running? Vista by chance?

Did you backup and then delete the iPod database and plugin and then install again from scratch? Do you have iPod driver licensing?

Nope - good old reliable XP SP2

I deleted the mlipod file in the data folder when I removed the dll - restarted and reinstalled...

I can't tell if I got licensing entered (I bought the program) because I can't get to registration without loading the plugin... When I go there without the plugin loaded I get an error, "Registration not supported for this plugin"

OK - I got it. I found one other dll in the iPort folder that I just deleted, restarted, and installed. It worked! Wow, that took some time to figure out but it is all well.

Thanks for your help,

sounds like you found the actual iPort driver.

There is the iPod plugin, and then there is the iPort driver. both need to be updated, both have a unique version and both need to be in synch with each other.
