Nuvo Grand Concerto Keypads and MusicLobby

Postby couj » Mon May 26, 2008 7:45 am

I'm currrently evaluating the Nuvo Grand Concerto (with the accompanying keypads). Obviously the keypads are designed to show music information from the Nuvo music server. However, is it possible for the keypads to communicate with Music Lobby 3 so that I could see playlists, albums, artists etc from MusicLobby on the Nuvo Grand keypads?

I believe it is possible.
We need to update the Wiki with how.
If any of the current MLGrandConcerto users can share how they are using it, that would be great.

From the MLGrandConcerto Wiki:

Send_Message ~Message (Upto 50 characters) This command sends a short duration message to all keypads

From the MusicLobby Wiki:

mlmediacenter_htpc_Zone 1_curartist
mlmediacenter_htpc_Zone 1_curtitle

It would be terrific if it could. I too would be grateful if anyone using musiclobby with the grand concerto keypads could tell us how it is going and some instructions on how to achieve this.

Found this

http://www.cinemaronlineforums.com/foru ... ndconcerto

The rules listed in th posrt are currently beyond me, but it looks like he might have managed to get the GC to display information from ML.

Hi,

Any news regarding this ?

I have been playing around with the driver a little..

For example, I send a command: MLServeCMD.MLGrandConcerto|Send_Message~test123
I get the following in the GC plugin logs

Processing - Send_Message~test123 from MEDIA
CMD: Send_Message~test123 FROM: MEDIA
Last received command - #OK

removed first character - 10
Command - #OK
Sending command for SEND_MESSAGE - *MSG"test123"
Sending command for SEND_MESSAGE - *MSG"test123" via COM: 1

And it works, so now I send the command:
MLServeCMD.MLGrandConcerto|Set_Display_Text_Line~2~3~hello

Which I understand should change the text on the 2nd source, 3rd line down from "source 2" which is the default to "hello"

I get the following in the logs

Processing - Set_Display_Text_Line~2~3~hello from MEDIA
CMD: Set_Display_Text_Line~2~3~hello FROM: MEDIA
Last received command - #?

removed first character - 10
Command - #?
Command not syntax was incorrect
Sending command for SET_DISPLAY_TEXT_LINE - *S2DISPLINE3"hello"
Sending command for SET_DISPLAY_TEXT_LINE - *S2DISPLINE3"hello" via COM: 1

Needless to say, nothing happens. Anyone have any idea what I am doing wrong ?

MLGrandConcerto 3.0.114
MLServer 3.0.513

I never spent the time to figure out how to create the play lists and such as outlined in the Nuvo GC programmers manual. It took a while to get the basics of everything working and then same spring/summer and I've just been very busy.

My question would be how do you get the available play lists from MC12? I haven't dug around to see if that's even possible. Then the question becomes how to fetch the result back from the keypad and select the playlist within MC12? Again, I haven't dug around and don't know if it's possible outside of the provided MuL flash interface.

Currently my keypads just display: Zone, Arist, Title, and the time/duration with the bar moving along. IF you're interested I can explain how I got that working.

ps: When Fall/Winter gets here I'll have more time again...

SET DISPLAY TEXT LINE PRoblem

Postby Anjo » Sun Nov 23, 2008 2:19 am

Hello I have been browsing through the forum, however i have not found a working example of displaying track info from the MLItunes (or any other plugin), into the GrandConcerto Controlpads.

I have copy and pasted all commands and no result. Having checked all alternatives nothing seems to work. All i want is to display info from the plugin into, in my case, SOURCE5 on the Nuvo GC.

Anybody out there????

Anjo
