MLStock Scene

Postby DavidL » Fri Dec 08, 2006 3:49 pm

Here is a Stock scene I have been working on.
Image

Attached are some files. Backup your MLServer and Cinemar directory before applying.

There are a few new scenes. Stock1, Stock2, Stock3. This is to display 20 or so different stocks.

There are some ChangeScene.Stock command maps for scene navigation

There is a Stock.ShareUpdate In this file, you update how many shares of each stock. The stocks have to be configured for data download in the MLStock plugin.

There is a Stock.PriceUpdate in this command, it does the share price times number of shares for a per stock total.

There is a Stock.PortfolioUpdate in this command, it adds up all of the per share totals for a portfolio total. This is manually invoked by the webpage. It could be run by MLScheduler every hour as well.

I also put a Stock.ShareUpdate in the MLStartup plugin to run right after MLServer starts to populate the number of shares.

Some of these commands were "lifted" from some of the users here. I moved some of those posts into this new forum section for a central place to talk about stock portfolios.

At some point, I will write some docs on setting up MLStock for newbies.

Nice Work

I love it! Simple but powerful. I just looked at the scenes buttons/fields to see how to substitute my stock codes. I already had the MLStocks plugin working, so that made it easier to understand everything. It took me about an hour to have it integrated into my scenes, complete with the update in the MLStartup plugin.

Thanks Smoothie :D
