it looks like it pretty similar to the Global Cache device, except for a port change. I could not find a lot of information regarding the programingbut I probably have enough to be dangerous.
What is the name of the actual HA system you are using, they may have more programming related information. I could probably make a version that let you change the GC port to 1001 and see if it will work on this device. Have you downloaded the 30 demo yet?
TCP/IP to RS232

The HA is Comfort Intregrated Home Automation by Cytech Technology
check out the details on UCM/Ethernet
For serial commands go to http://www.cytech-technology.com/techinfo.html
and look at Serial Command Set (May 2007)
This should give you a comprehensive over view.
Ps : I did not download the MLGenericDevice. Is the command maps from MLGenericSerial portable to MLGenericDevice ?

If you're running Homseer there's a full featured and rather good plugin for Comfort using the UCM. Been using it for a while now.

Any news with my request for a RS232 ethernet functionality ?

I have not had a lot of time to review, but it appears to be very similar to the Global Cache device. Can you configure which port the device listens on. It appears to listen on 1001 by default (although the document I found this in was dated). If you could change it to listen on a GC port ( 4999 thru 5003) we could probably configure it as a GC device and give it a try. If it works, it would be a simple change to allow the use of a TIBBO enabled device.
Also I would expect that the redirector you mentioned will continue to work under MLGD. Have you tried it?
Let me know.

It would only work on port 1001.
I want to avoid using the redirector software altogether cuase it does slow the system down.

If you are willing to try, I can work up a test version that will allow the use of port 1001. Should only take a couple of days to get you something.

No problem, let me know when you ready
Thanks a stack

I think the code is ready to test. Go ahead and install the plugin. Once you have it going, I will PM you a replacement dll for testing. Should be pretty obvious whether or not it will work.

Sorry guys, I am running little behind. You need to download the plugin from the "Additional Software Downloads" in the MLServer Help Section. It is in the BETA portion of the selection box. The other dll should be in your PM box by the time you read this. You need to copy the new dll into the c:\program files\MLServer\plugins directory.
Once you get this done, start MLserver and set up a Global Cache/Tibbo device in the plugin. Use port 1001 in the module section. Once you do this, go ahead and program a couple of commands and see if you get a response. I will send you my IM address with the dll incase you have any questions.

I tried numerous times to download from 'additional software'
When I look in my Mlserver folder Downloaded files, there is none.
I looked elsewhere and found a similar version 3.0.291 however the Ok button on the Add Device forms is greyed out.
When I copied the new dll to the plugins folder, the version number disappears from the plugin page on MlServer. Double clicking on MLGenericDevice does not respond.

What are you trying to download? MLGenericDevice? I just tried, and it worked fine from Additional Software Downloads Beta area.
