WOL NAS Thecus N5200PRO

Postby jstachow » Sun Aug 19, 2007 4:17 am

My movies are stored on the Thecus NAS. This NAS has WOL-functionality.

Is it possible to wake it up with the MLWMI? I think, the problem is, that the client can not be installed onto the NAS and it's not possible to get the IP and MAC-adress manually into the plugin.

Thanks Joerg

First Google hit gives this: http://gammadyne.com/cmdline.htm

just run it with the parameters from MLServer and you should be good.

We should be able to add the feature. Why dont you try gregoryX's solution, and if it works, I will add the functionality so you can give it a shot.

Thank you Gregory, the tool works very well with the file open-command.

I use the german google that show me other hits. There I found another interesting free tool with a lot of additional features on www.oette.info .

My hope was to get it working without an additional software. The idea was to start a movie on the nas and switch it on, if it is offline and wait 60 seconds before.

I will try to get the ability to do it via WMI added shortly. I will post a note here when completed.
