Loading the WMI client app on startup?

Postby dmcvie » Wed Jan 03, 2007 1:07 pm

Hi all,

I recently installed the WMI plug-in and it seems to function as expected, however the client app needs to be manually reloaded every time the client is restarted?

Based on the option in the client setup screen to "connect on startup" I expected this would have the WMI client app connect every time the client boots.

How is everyone else doing this? Do I need to add it to the startup group?

Thanks
Dave

It's in my Windows Startup group. Ideally, this would run as a Service. Not today, though.

Ah, Thanks Smoothtlk. Its wasnt clear in to me from reading the docs that this needed to be in the startup group to have it going.

How does this impact the "wakeup"? Will the app still be running when the client resumes?

Do we know when it might be an option as a service?

No immediate plan for this. But, the code may be opened up for other reasons this week, so ya never know.

This would be fantastic. I am currently using nncron to do this but would love to have seen native support.

Thank you for the update.
