MLNetCallerID Plugin / MLCallerID3

MLNetCallerID supports the NetCallerID hardware and sends CallerID data to MLCallerID plugin. MLCallerID3 uses a database to store your call data. MLPhoneBook is a MainLobby view to your Outlook contacts list. MLPhoneDialer allows for dialing of a phone number for you.

MLNetCallerID Plugin / MLCallerID3

Postby DavidL » Tue Sep 26, 2006 9:34 am

MLNetCallerID works in conjunction with MLCallerID3 and the popular NetCallerID hardware. NetCallerID hardware makes it very easy to add reliable Caller ID tracking to your system. Additionally, the NetCallerID hardware will pass callerID data to MLServer 3 when you get a call and you are already on the phone. Modem based solutions don't do this.

Hi Mario- 3.0.156 appears to be much better than predecessors and alot of the bugs seem to be addressed. Thanks. !!

There is still one bug though that I'm experiencing and that is being able to have the POWER ON (Green) upon startup. Even though I check the box 'On startup' under the power button, when MLSERVER3 is loaded, my CallerID still defaults to 'Off' (Red). Also, the variable MLCALLERID_POWER is not updating (variable=Off) at all times regardless of Power state.

Please advise. Thanks..Joe

On startup plugin loads without error.

On access of plugin settings receive following errors.

ReadSettings Error #383 - 'Text' property is read-only
ReadSettings Error #8002 - Invalid port number

Attempt to close settings by pressing OK and receive

cmd OK Error #13 - Type mismatch

Close settings box via cancel is only avenue to exit plugin.

Plugin is set to no modem, etc since I am using NetCallerID to feed......

MLNetCallerID 3.03
MLCallerID 3.0.156

MLServer 3.0.97

I also had the 'power on' bug. Removed all caller ID reference in MLServer.ini and removed the caler id dB from 'Data'. Reinstalled the latest version and got it to work fine - power stayed on and all looked OK. Now the bad news  It only worked for the first call - after that it seemed to go deaf to all calls ......

Waiting for the next update....

How do I interface this with HomeSeer?

Do I just create the event:

&hs.plugin("MLHSPlugin").MLServeCMD "MLServeCmd.MLCallerID|SendCID:" & hsp.CIDName(1) & "~" & hsp.CIDNumber(1)

There is no option under config to connect to homeseer.

Matt, I answered your question on the HomeSeer forum.

Ultimately, it really matters on what callerid solution you have. If you have HomeSeer Phone, then HSP will automatically notifify MLHSPlugin in regards to the CallerID information.

If you have another solution, then we need to know which solution you have and how it exposes the information.

The API you listed is the function within MLHSPlugin. You just need to insert that into the callerid solution/script that you have and replace the variables at the end with the variables that existing cid software exposes.

Either way, let's either further discuss this in another thread here or over at the HomeSeer forum.

I think Cinemar wants to leave this perticular thread just for announcements.

Make sure you have the 2.0 Plugin in HomeSeer

Postby rhodesep » Mon Oct 23, 2006 8:15 am

You know I have been running all over the forum looking for why my HomeSeer system stopped sending Caller ID information when I changed to ML3. I was able to make it work by creating an event and forcing the info over to ML. Krumpy kept saying that if you had a basic statment in the "ini" file you couldn't help but get the info. Well I am one that couldn't get the info across. The Solution was to load the 2.0 ML plugin at the HomeSeer end. Because you don have a choose in the updater I kept overlooking the fact that you had to manually load Krumpys 2.0 HomeSeer plugin. My bad! Just though there might be some out there as dumb as me. Get 2.0 here http://forums.homeseer.com/attachment.php?s=3545f207e1540345ca64ab52cc820c80&attachmentid=9051

I have ViaTalk VOIP service and all calls are identified with a leading 1, i.e. 1-AreaCode-7Digit Number. When viewing the number in the logs it is displayed as:
151-246-8xxxx
instead of
512-468-xxxx

This makes it hard to recognize the actual number when both the area code and the 1st 3 digits of the number are broken up like this. Can a setting be added to the plugin where you can check to ignore this leading 1?

thanks,
Murray

I figured out how to make mlcallerid_lastcall_telephonenumber_001 to be 1-512-468-xxxx, but the call logs still show up as 151-246-8xxxx. Any ideas on how to get this fixed in the call logs as well?

To make the variable mlcallerid_lastcall_telephonenumber_001 display correctly, I edited the setings table in callerid.mdb outside of MLServer using MS Access. I changed numberformat from @@@-@@@-@@@@ to
@-@@@-@@@-@@@@.

Murray
