How to Make an LED TV Movie Poster using DVDLobby

Postby mcascio » Thu Sep 27, 2012 12:06 pm

I thought some of you guys might benefit from seeing how I turned an LED TV screen into a dynamic movie poster that not only shows the cover art but displays the START and END time of the movie poster.

Check out my build thread over on the AVS forum:

No, not really. You basically have to brew your own, due to the resolution of the screen you're planning on using.

What I did was basically use the sample Movie Scene and build a stand alone Scene. Just create a new scene with an Index html page that is configured for the monitor you're using (in portrait mode) and the Server variables for the movie that is currently set to play.

I found it took a little bit of time and experimentation, but I was happy with the results.

Hopefully, this has been helpful!

I have a sample web app for the display. You just need to dedicate the output of the PC to drive the display and have Chrome run full screen in kiosk mode on the TV. All the server variables you need are automatically being generated by DVDLobby.

Is the sample available?

Here you go. The index shows the random posters being generated by DVDLobby. The NowPlaying shows the poster for the current playing movie.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
