TV/Episodic Content

Postby benny32 » Mon Aug 06, 2012 6:17 pm

I have 100's of tv episodes, DVDlobby seems ill equiped to manage this type of content on a season by season basis. Do you have a solution for this or a recommendation for how to best approach this with DVDlobby?

You add the TV show as a regular movie. Then for each episode you have you create a new disc on the discs tab. Then all the episodes for that show will appear under the show when it is selected.

So I will have to manually add each and every episode manually? There's no way to scrape the show directory and pull that automagically? That's a job and a half to manually add every episode of every season.

Not at the moment. Show me how you have your TV show folders laid out.

For example...

Grey's Anatomy
|->Season 1
|->Episode 1
|->Season 2
|->Episode 1

and on and on. That one show has 137 epidsodes. 30 Rock has over 100 episodes. Small ones like Deadwood when they have 3 seasons and 12 episodes, no problem, just add them manually. 100 episodes manually, ug.

Can you do a screen shot of the actual folder structure for one show one season?

Here's a quick screenshot from a episode directory.

I'm about to enter this same issue with a few hundred TV show episodes.

I was going to try scrapping the TV series folders with YAMJ.
Then at least I have something to cut and paste from.

Maybe even do the add disc think manually, then write a import script to pull the yamj scrappings.

i can ad TV shows and it automatically separates them into disc which is ok but is there anything in the works so it breaks it down into episode and names the list the episode name
also is there a way to separate your movies from your tv shows ? this would be huge plus to DVD lobby imho

>>> but is there anything in the works so it breaks it down into episode and names the list the episode name

We're not planning on anything like that right now. This would really need each episode ripped as it's own media file. I do that now and add each episode as its own disc entry.

Not built in but when I add new media I give all my movies a genre of "movie" and the TV shows a genre of "TV" and that's how I filter them out.
